About Sajan

"I’m not here to sell you on crypto—but to share what it’s taught me about money, systems, and what’s worth fighting for."

Sajan is a software developer and long-time contributor to decentralized finance protocols. Over the years, he’s worked with DAOs and blockchain-native projects aimed at building transparent, accessible financial infrastructure that prioritizes user sovereignty.

While deeply embedded in the world of crypto, Sajan brings a thoughtful, critical lens to the space—one that goes beyond hype to ask deeper questions about trust, governance, and the role of institutions in our lives.

Now, he’s turning those reflections into a conversation about what crypto is really for—and what it reveals about the systems we rely on every day.

About the Talk

“The other side of money: Crypto's role in the real world”

In this talk, we’ll demystify the basics of decentralized blockchains and explore the value and disruption that crypto brings to the world. But rather than idealizing it as a silver bullet, we’ll take a critical look at both its promises and its limitations, especially in replacing the traditional financial system. From hyperinflation in failed economies to financial censorship in authoritarian regimes, we’ll examine why crypto exists and who it really serves. More importantly, we’ll reflect on what its rise reveals about the fragility of fiat (traditional economic) systems, the importance of financial privacy, and the urgent need to fight for fair, transparent, and accountable institutions. Crypto isn’t here to overthrow the system, but to remind us that we can redesign it.
